Our commitment

Cara Technology Limited is committed to making the Nexus by Cara Technology learning platform accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or disability. We believe that high-quality professional training should be available to everyone working in the food and beverage industry.

We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility.

Current state of accessibility

Nexus is a newly launched platform. We have built it using accessibility-aware tools and components, but we have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means there may be elements of the Website and Platform that do not currently meet the standard.

We will be undertaking accessibility testing in the months following launch and will update this statement to reflect our progress, including any known issues and the steps we are taking to address them.

What you can do to adjust your experience

While we work towards full conformance, the following general adjustments may help you use the Website and Platform more comfortably:

  • Most modern web browsers allow you to zoom in, change text size, or adjust contrast. Look for accessibility settings in your browser preferences.
  • Assistive technologies such as screen readers, speech recognition software, and keyboard navigation should work with most of the Platform, though we cannot yet guarantee full compatibility across all features.
  • If you find video content difficult to follow, please contact us — we can discuss alternative formats or transcripts where available.

Reporting accessibility problems

If you find any part of the Website or Platform difficult to use, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, we want to hear from you. Your feedback helps us prioritise improvements.

Please contact us at:

  • Email: hello@nexusbycara.com
  • Telephone: +44 (0)1372 439 990, Monday–Friday (excluding English bank holidays), 08:00–18:00 UK time
  • Post: Cara Technology, Bluebird House, Mole Business Park, Station Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 7BA, UK

When reporting an accessibility problem, please tell us:

  • Which page or feature you were trying to use
  • What you were trying to do
  • What happened (or didn’t happen)
  • What assistive technology, browser or device you were using, if you know

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to provide a clear next step — whether that is a fix, a workaround, or an honest acknowledgement of a limitation we are not yet able to resolve.

Requesting an alternative format

If you need course content or other information in an alternative format — for example, a transcript, a larger text version, or content provided in a different way — please contact us at hello@nexusbycara.com. We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests.

Our plan to improve

Our roadmap for improving accessibility includes:

  • Completing a full WCAG 2.1 Level AA audit of the Website and Platform
  • Publishing the results of that audit, including any known limitations and target dates for remediation
  • Building accessibility checks into our content review process so new course materials are designed with accessibility in mind
  • Training the team responsible for the Platform on accessibility principles and inclusive design

We will update this statement as that work progresses.
